Wash houses in via San Cipriano
The wash houses of San Cipriano, whose value is officially recognized by the Rural Development Program of the Lombardy Region (PSR 2014-2020), characterize the agricultural landscape of this area full of ditches, in the hamlet of San Cipriano di Lonato.
Located between the green hilly strip and the expanse of fields, they were traditionally used by the inhabitants of the surrounding agricultural farms.
Not far away it is possible to admire the church dedicated to San Cipriano, of very ancient origins, restored in 1722 when the bell tower was built. Inside there are some frescoes from the end of the 15th century depicting St. Sebastian and other saints. The semicircular apse is preserved from the Romanesque period, marked by thin pilasters, resting on a high base, which divide the structure into three compartments, in each of which there is a single-lancet window.
