Wash houses in via Brodena
The nearby urban areas are called Brodena and Brodenella.
In Brodenella, the Spia d’Italia locality recalls its strong historical value in its name: born in 1700 as a hunting lodge of Palazzo Gerardi in Lonato, the Spia d’Italia is located on the top of a hill which hosted, during the battle of San Martino and Solferino (1859), the headquarters of the Piedmontese army. It probably owes its name to the fact that, from the top of the hill, the plain and the movements of the enemies could be seen, or rather, “spied on” very well.
Nearby, the Ghetto area recalls the Jewish presence in the Lonato area in the 16th-17th centuries.
