Villa Callas
Villa Callas, privately owned, has remained the same in its external appearance as it was purchased in the 1950s by Giovanni Battista Meneghini, a Veronese entrepreneur and husband of the soprano Maria Callas, to spend his holidays in Sirmione. After the separation of the two, the villa was sold and, in recent years, renovated.
The property is today visible from the outside, where there is also a plaque commemorating the presence of Maria Callas and Giovanni Battista Meneghini in Sirmione.
The garden has remained the same, as has the Lake Garda-shaped swimming pool commissioned by Maria Callas. The villa cannot normally be visited, but on some occasions during the year it hosts events and concerts open to the public: to find out more about them in detail, we recommend following the Sirmione events calendar.
