Villa Arrighi-Tacoli

Villa Arrighi, currently Villa Arrighi-Tacoli (the Marquises Tacoli of Modena, with whom the Arrighi were related, are the current owners).
The side that overlooks the square is that of the service rooms. On the right, the oratory of San Giuseppe, the family’s private church, dating back to 1727.

The noble part of the villa remains inside the private courtyard, therefore overlooking the magnificent English garden which can be glimpsed beyond the gate. The facade took on its current form in 1800. A walkway still runs along the walls along the garden, allowing you to enjoy a suggestive view of the pond.

The Villa, whose current façade, in Venetian style, is the result of a restoration and renovation in the 19th century, stands on the foundations of the ancient keep. Napoleon Bonaparte stayed in this villa twice in 1796 and in 1859, following the famous Battle of Solferino, General Mac-Mahon, commander of the French army, as well as Napoleon III.
