Towards the Abbey of Maguzzano

Departure/arrival: Port of Desenzano

From the busy port of Desenzano towards the hinterland, to arrive at the silent and secluded world enclosed within the ancient walls of the Maguzzano Abbey.
From the Cesare Battisti lakefront we go up via Antonio Gramsci and then turn right, taking via San Benedetto, which we follow along the entire length and continue on via Reciago.
A dirt road, on our right, takes us through the countryside to the Maguzzano Abbey.
For the return, we retrace the same dirt road and continue on Via Reciago. Once we reach the beginning of via San Benedetto, we turn right, towards Brodazzo and Pusonaro, to easily reach via Marzabotto. From here we continue along via Rimembranze which takes us back to via Gramsci, from which it is easy to go down towards the lakefront from which we started.
