The Neolithic settlement of Località Tosina
It constitutes the most important archaeological discovery made in the area of the moraine hills. Tosina was the site of a settlement from the mid-recent Neolithic age (from the mid-5th millennium BC to the mid-4th millennium BC) with persistence up to the threshold of the Eneolithic. Located a few hundred meters west of the Monzambano Castle, it develops with a perfectly ellipsoidal shape on the slopes of a low hill, overlooking areas that were once marshy.
The research and excavations carried out have made it possible to ascertain that the extension of the settlement coincides with the entire area, divided into extensive terraces, which preserves housing structures well preserved in their structural elements and of important interest when compared with the fleeting settlement remains. contemporaries of the Po Valley area.
