POLECRA LAKE TOUR
Esenta – San Polo – Esenta

7.7 km – Max difference in altitude: 215 m

From the car park of the Esenta sports field (125 m above sea level) continue along Via San Marco in a northerly direction until you cross and follow Via Vallone. The road, until now asphalted, becomes a dirt road and you follow it for over a kilometer when, after leaving the woods and passing a farmhouse on the right, at a crossroads with a large tree you turn left.
The road goes up with a wide hairpin bend that goes around a private park when, immediately before the villa, you turn left entering a wooded area.
After about 200 metres, having reached a crossroads, you turn right up a narrow path which becomes increasingly panoramic and which runs along the crest of Monte Nuvolo, an isolated hill in the middle of the plain.
After passing some hunting lodges you arrive on a large meadow with the Polecra lake (215 m above sea level) in the centre, with an adjoining small rural building. Here the view ranges from Lake Garda to the Apennines, from Monte Baldo to the city of Brescia and its highest mountains and it is very suggestive to wait for the sunset with the sun setting on the distant Piedmont mountains, when visibility allows it.
After a break, continue downhill along the path, now wider, keeping to the right at a barrier and then through cultivated fields, reaching the asphalt road of Via San Tommaso, in the locality of the same name, where there is also a car park. Here you turn left walking on the asphalt road and, having reached a hill with a crossroads, always keeping left the route descends along the dirt road Via dei Ronchi towards the hamlet of San Polo.
At the first houses, turn left again towards the south, continuing for about a kilometre, ignoring the numerous crossroads you come across.
The environment is characterized first by the presence of cultivated fields and then by the shade of the forest until, at a clear crossroads, you turn left and continue the path to reach the villa you encountered on the outward journey and retrace the path backwards. itinerary to the starting point.

Warning: do not travel during the opening periods of the hunt, generally from mid-September to mid-December, due to the presence of numerous fixed hunting posts.
