Mincio cycle path

We start from a UNESCO Heritage site: Peschiera del Garda.
Cycling along the defensive walls of the city, you immediately find yourself in a flat area next to the water, towards the Mincio Park. For birdwatching lovers, the banks of the river should be observed with your camera at hand: you may spot some aquatic birds such as coots, mallards and moorhens. And here is the first village: Monzambano, famous for its morainic hills which become popular destinations for cyclists throughout the year. By making a small detour, it is also possible to reach the village of Castellaro Lagusello, considered one of the most beautiful in Italy. Continuing the itinerary you pass the border between Veneto and Lombardy, and you find yourself first in Valeggio sul Mincio, known for its tasty tortellini, then in Borghetto sul Mincio, very characteristic due to its thousand-year history. The route ends in the Mantua area, an area that boasts notable peculiarities: each village has its castle, structural differences and culinary peculiarities that we recommend observing with a more moderate ride.
