– Lonato del Garda
Lonato centro – Fornaci romane – Lonato centro cycle path
16 km – Distance: approximately 2 hours – Difference in altitude: 190 m
From the train station, we walk along Via IV Novembre until the nearby crossroads, where we turn right to cross the railway and take Via Piave, still on our right. At the next roundabout we proceed along Via Isonzo and join the cycle path to Castiglione delle Stiviere, which we will follow until the deviation for Fornace dei Gorghi. As soon as we pass the motorway underpass, we turn left onto the dirt road Via Monte Mario (0.9 km). We continue straight ahead, southwards, along the dirt road, until we return to asphalt and follow Via Molocco Sopra and, subsequently, Via Molocco Sotto, which takes us to the Esenta hamlet.
At the sign that marks the beginning of the hamlet (4.9 km), still following the signs for the cycle path to Castiglione delle Stiviere, we go up along via San Marco prima, which we will follow entirely to cross the hamlet, and continuing on via Damiano Chiesa. Then we turn left, along via Slossaroli, until we cross via Corte Ferrarini on our left (8.3 km). From here we will make a small detour to the archaeological site of Fornace dei Gorghi continuing until the large roundabout, crossing it in the direction of Castiglione on the cycle lane and then following the signs for Fornace.
After the visit to the archaeological site we abandon the cycle path to Castiglione and start cycling again along via Corte Ferrarini, skirting the local kart track until the end of via Slossaroli to turn left and arrive at the hamlet of Brodena (12.3 km). From here we turn right and continue north along the street of the same name, which we follow until we cross via Marziale Cerutti. Here we turn left and continue until we reach the overpass which, after passing the railway, takes us near the station from which we started.
