Lake fish

The product on which the cuisine of Lake Garda is based is lake fish which constitutes its real heritage. In Lake Garda you can fish around forty different fish species, mostly native. The most valuable and typical species that has found a suitable habitat only in Garda is the carpione. Other species include, for example, bleak, lake trout, whitefish, pike combined with excellent local oil.
