La Rocca Fortezza

It was once the largest fortification in the Mantua state. As evidence of the ancient manor, the ruins of the city walls, one of the access gates and a watchtower and defense tower transformed into a bell tower in the 17th century remain. It is proven that the complex was equipped with fortifications until the mid-17th century, with towers, crenellated walls and a drawbridge. The fortress was inhabited, with inside a 12th century oratory serving the court and called S. Biagio in Castello.
