The geographical production area of the Garda Colli Mantovani DOC denomination consists of a hilly area with reliefs reaching 200 m. above sea level. The ampelographic basis of the Garda Colli Mantovani DOC vineyards is the result of a long selection made by man, with the result that the vines most suitable for the specificity of the soil and the climatic characteristics are those traditionally cultivated in the production areas, while the forms of breeding, the planting layouts and the pruning systems are such as to pursue the best and rational arrangement of the vines and to rationally manage the cultivation operations and the quality of the production, maintaining tradition. These change depending on the cultivation environment (hilly or plain). The practices relating to the production of wines are those consolidated on the legacy of tradition for obtaining wines in the typologies envisaged by the specifications.

Garda DOC

Garda DOC wines present, from an analytical and organoleptic point of view, peculiar characteristics linked to the geographical environment. The wines produced in the neighboring Brescia area bear the mention “Classico” and have the following organoleptic characteristics: Garda Classico Bianco has more or less intense delicate aromas and is balanced and fresh, slightly almondy; the Garda Classico Chiaretto, the most original and characteristic wine of the Denomination, is obtained from the red grapes of the red Garda Classico, but vinified in such a way as to obtain a “rose petal” rosé colored wine with a surprising floral and berry aroma , accompanied by the right acidity which determines a great freshness of taste sensations and a good structure.
