Church of the Holy Trinity of Olfino
The Oratory of the Santissima Trinità, despite the many interventions that have taken place over time, maintains its medieval Romanesque imprint, as evidenced by the gabled façade, decorated with arches along the slopes of the roof, the roundel of the splayed oculus, the portal lobed in the upper part, the small bell tower with the four arched openings of the belfry. At the back of the church are the remains of a small cloister, the ancient seat of a community of Augustinian hermits, which after 1580 passed to the Olivetan monks dependent on the abbey of Santa Maria in Organis of Verona.
The interior of the church consists of a single nave with a trussed roof and a deep rectangular presbytery, and features pictorial and stucco decorations that have overlapped over time. At least two cycles of frescoes from the 16th century can be recognised, painted at different times and by different hands, which were covered by stucco in the 17th century.
Along the walls of the nave, four arches decorated with stuccos of biblical characters, allegorical figures and abbey coats of arms. The presbytery, with a cross vault, with angels and grotesques, is introduced by an important triumphal arch, where in the upper part the Annunciation is depicted with the angel on one side and Mary on the other and with the Eternal Father in the center.
The presbytery contains the main altar of which the frontal decorated with geometric marble inlays stands out, in the center the altarpiece depicting the Trinity to which the church is dedicated while on the sides, in the two niches, the statues of the Virgin of the Annunciation and the Archangel Gabriel. In the upper part of the altar the group of the three theological virtues, Faith on the left, Charity in the center and Hope on the right.
In the two lunette windows at the top, on the sides of the presbytery, above the decorative band of cherubs, the angels of the Passion, on the left, and the angels of the Resurrection, on the right, are depicted.
On the right side of the original body of the building stands the chapel of the Madonna del Carmelo built in 1729.
