Church of Beata Maria Vergine del Rosario – Centenaro
The church was built in 1703 by GioBattista Papa, near his home, based on a design by GioBattista Lisignolo.
A small bell tower designed by Domenico Seresa or Ceresa di Castiglione was added to it in 1745, built through small donations and annual collections of millet offerings, family by family.
The name Centenaro is a sign of the Lombard domination, that is, it derives from the centena or the administrative subdivision of a territory. It referred to the number of men fit for arms and at their head there was therefore a “centenary”.
