Between Napoleon Bonaparte and Napoleon III

The circular itinerary leads to the discovery of the route followed by Napoleon Bonaparte and Napoleon III and their respective armies on the Morainic Hills of Lower Garda. The Second War of Independence ended in Solferino, with the battle of 24 June 1859, when the fortress of the town defined as the “Spy of Italy” was taken. The route begins and ends from Piazza Castello in Solferino, at the point where the battle that would lead to the unification of Italy ended. From here, in the direction of Madonna Della Scoperta, follow the road until the end of the descent, where we go left onto a dirt road. We continue until La Quiete Park and, leaving it on our right, we reach the provincial road. Here we go left and immediately take the first right up to the Castel Venzago cemetery. On its side we take the road to Lavagnone. We continue on a dirt road to reach the parking lot of a shopping center. We continue climbing up to the base of Lonato. From here we follow the signs for Castiglione and then, on secondary roads, Barche and then Solferino.
