Path of Faith and Solidarity
The Path of Faith and Solidarity, 170 km of paths traced from scratch throughout the length and breadth of the territory, following the life traces of three great saints: San Luigi Gonzaga in Castiglione delle Stiviere, Blessed Paola Montaldi in Volta Mantovana and Sant’Angela Merici in Desenzano del Garda. The primary religious character is enriched along the way with the scenic and naturalistic beauties of the moraine micro-region, a territory that is more important than ever for history and for artistic and cultural settlements. In these lands, in fact, the idea of the Red Cross was born by virtue of a wonderful combination of popular piety imbued with religiosity and the highest civil feeling, personified by the presence in the territory, in 1859, of its founder Henry Dunant.
