Votive shrine in Via Lazzaretto

The votive shrine is located in the place where in past centuries the inhabitants of Lonato affected by the plague were confined.
The lazzaretto was established near the Polada area in 1577 on the occasion of the plague of that year, remembered as the Plague of St. Charles.
Even today the locality “Lazzaretto” retains in its name the memory of past centuries.
